අති උතුම් ආගම?
“දෙවියනි අසම සම
අසනෙමි කරුණ මෙම
ලෝ අති උතුම් ආගම
පැවසු මැන ඒ කිම?”
“ආගම යනු කිම
තිරව නොදනිමි මම
මුනිවරු ලෝ දෙසූ දම
පුතුනි එය මිනිස්කම”
“පන්සල්, පල්ලි කොතෙකුත් ලෝ බැන්දාට
මල් ලු පිලිම අභියස ඔබ වැන්දාට
ලොව තුල මිනිස්කම් පිරිහුනු දාට
ආගම් දෙසූ දම් යලි වැටහෙනු කාට?”
“කරුණාව, එකමුතුකම
තිරව අගයමි මම
මුනිවරු ලෝ දෙසූ දම
පුතුනි, එය මිනිස්කම”
The Ultimate Religion?
“Oh! Mighty God, the knower of all,
May I implore thee to make one call,
Of the Religions, us humans enthrall
What is the noblest of them all?”
“The noblest one I cannot guess
What ‘Religion’ is I know even less
But my son, all noble sages stress
The value of humanity and kindness”
“Temples and churches, build them if you may,
Erect grand statues, place flowers and pray,
But, as human values slowly ebbs away
Son, say which Religion could save the day?”
“Your harmony with inclusiveness,
These worthy qualities, I always bless,
Yes, my son, all noble sages stress
The value of humanity and kindness”
