Why we need vultures

The day death comes
our hidden privacy is over.

Very private parts
of our bodies
seen and handled
only by
ourselves, parents
doctors , wives, husbands
will be the property
of the undertakers
who will be exposing
the secrets
doing
whatever they think fit
after a couple of drinks

It is considered
better than
eaten by the vultures
by the world
claimed to be civilized

Arn't we all
plants and animals
sons and daughters
of the soil
born in the soil

Plants remain unmoved
but give flowers, fruits,
seeds to the others
and sometimes
they are taken alive
eaten alive
for the others to live

we move......
to see things
to do things,
to own things
but
grudgingly give things

when the plants die
no vultures, no animals
come to feast on
the dead bodies
they don't invitingly
stink either.

When we die
We stink to the high heavens
because of what we earned
because of what we owned
to live for ourselves
the cause of putrefaction
Inside and outside
that is why we need
vultures and undertakers
to clear the mess
