… to take me away…

Dear Death, friend of Self-continuity
Though I’ve seen you often
I never wished your company
But on that distinct day
When I had lost my way
In this unfinished journey
Where existence continues
You arrived to take me away
Your courteous request
I most gladly did accept

Seated in that carriage next to me
Was none other than Self-continuity
You, dear Death
Very well knowing
That I the common earthling
Still wish continuing,
Facilitate this ‘closing’
To each sentient being
But for saints when they die
There is no Self-continuity and l

Through window I see beyond
As the carriage slowly moves on
I see sun rising in the east
Another day a new dawn
Though no ultimate bliss - Nirvana
And my destination unknown
In this journey I am not alone
As cause leads to fruit
We reap what we sow
So, it’s needless to sigh
Now towards that new life
For both Self-continuity and I
